Word & Worship is a pilot for reading the Bible, reflecting, and praying. You can do that without an account. This page says what the app may hold, and what it leaves alone.

Reading without an account

The World English Bible in the app is public domain. Daily Bread, the Mark reader, and the guided journeys work without signing in. A device may keep a local reading place so you can return tomorrow. That local note is not a profile, and it is not sold.

Reflections in Daily Bread stay in your own thoughts or journal. The app does not collect that reflection text.

Accounts and ChatGPT sign-in

An earlier version of this pilot expected a ChatGPT account so saved progress could follow you. On a self-hosted copy, that sign-in may be unavailable. If it is unavailable, keep reading. Nothing in Scripture is locked behind an account.

When sign-in does work, the host may provide the email address and name on that ChatGPT account. We use them to keep your saved progress with you: reading marks, journey choices, Daily Bread completion times, and settings you choose to store. We do not ask you to invent a separate password here.

The AI companion

The study companion is an optional AI tool. It is not God, not a pastor, and not a substitute for a church or for professional care. If you ask a question, that question and the passage you are reading may be sent to OpenAI to draft a reply. Companion conversations are labeled as pilot help. They are not Scripture.

Optional AI narration uses the same kind of voice service, within the allowance already described in the app. You can read without listening.

Churches and location

Finding a church can use an approximate location only after you choose it and your browser asks permission. We do not keep a precise GPS history. The details live on Church location and privacy.

What a saved account can include

If you are signed in, the account may hold study progress, Daily Bread start and completion times, journey step marks, church saves you choose, support messages, and optional measurement if you turn that on. Measurement, when you allow it, is aggregate activity for the people who run the pilot. It does not include reflection text, chats, or your location.

You can export or delete account data from your account area when an account exists. Support requests are visible to you and to the person who operates the app.

Community

The town square is a moderated adult beta. Posts are reviewed before they appear publicly. Do not share someone else’s private story there.

Children

This pilot is written for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for children.
