WALK WITH GOD · GUIDED JOURNEY

Room for grief

A gentle passage, a few words of prayer, and space to be as you are.

John 11:17–36 · At your pace

This passage includes death and mourning. You can skip any step, pause, or leave at any time. Finishing does not mean grief is finished.

Opening your saved journeys…

  1. Sit with the passage

    Optional

Read John 11:17–36 slowly, if you wish. Jesus meets Martha and Mary after Lazarus has died. You do not need to read the entire chapter or mark it complete to take this step.

  2. Room for hope and sorrow

    Optional

Martha and Mary speak honestly to Jesus. He speaks of resurrection and life, and he also weeps. This scene leaves room for hope and sorrow together. It is not a promise that another loss will be reversed, or an explanation for why it happened.

  3. When words are difficult

    Optional

Jesus, meet me in what I am carrying. Receive the words I have and the words I cannot find. Help me receive care from someone safe. Amen.

  4. A quiet moment

    Optional

What, if anything, would I like to say to God today? You may reflect silently or in your own journal. No answer is required and no reflection text is collected here.

  5. You do not have to carry this alone

    Optional

If someone feels safe to contact, consider asking a trusted person, pastor, or grief counselor: “Could you spend a little time with me and listen?” This is an invitation, not a requirement. Spiritual support is not a substitute for professional care.

Continue in a way that helps.
